Why This Foundation Was Created
The MCS Survival Foundation was founded by Johnny Ray Hudson, who lives with severe stage 4 Multiple Chemical Sensitivity.
As Johnny’s condition progressed, he lost his ability to safely enter most homes, vehicles, hospitals, offices, and other ordinary indoor environments. He contacted doctors, hospitals, government agencies, embassies, support programs, charities, family members, friends, and nearly anyone who might have been able to help.
Again and again, the systems that were supposed to provide assistance could not safely meet his needs—or offered solutions that were medically impossible for him to use.
Johnny eventually faced a devastating reality: people living with the most severe forms of MCS can be left without safe shelter, suitable transportation, accessible medical care, clean air, basic supplies, or the dignity every human being deserves.
The foundation was created so that other people with severe MCS would not have to face that reality completely alone.
No person should be abandoned without basic human needs simply because their illness makes ordinary housing, transportation, or medical environments unsafe. The MCS Survival Foundation exists to help provide practical assistance, education, advocacy, and a fair support system led by people who understand the condition through lived experience.
We cannot continue waiting for outside systems to understand every severe MCS patient’s needs. We must begin building support within our own community.
If members of the MCS community and their supporters each gave just one dollar a week, those small contributions could combine to provide meaningful help—food, clean water, protective equipment, safer outdoor sleeping arrangements, transportation support, medical-access assistance, and emergency resources for people living in the most extreme conditions.
One person may not be able to solve this crisis alone. Together, we can begin making sure that fewer people with severe MCS are left without help, hope, dignity, or the basic necessities of survival.

Transparency, Accountability & Volunteers
The MCS Survival Foundation is committed to operating openly, responsibly, and with the needs of people living with severe Multiple Chemical Sensitivity at the center of every decision.
Direct-assistance requests are reviewed by a five-member Assistance Review Committee made up of people who live with MCS and understand the condition through lived experience. No single person controls whether a request is approved.
The foundation will maintain clear records of donations, approved assistance, operating expenses, and committee decisions. Personal and medical information provided by applicants will remain confidential and will not be included in public reports.
Any actual or potential conflict of interest must be disclosed. A board member, committee member, or volunteer with a personal, financial, family, or other conflict involving an applicant, donor, vendor, or transaction will not participate in that decision.
The foundation is currently preparing its application for recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Until IRS recognition is received, donations are not represented as tax-deductible.

Disability advocacy and community outreach
Some volunteer roles may require confidentiality agreements, conflict-of-interest disclosures, training, or proof of relevant experience. Volunteers will not be permitted to diagnose applicants, provide professional medical or legal advice unless properly licensed, or make assistance decisions outside the foundation’s approved review process.
